Perodua Alza 1.5

Perodua has launched its long anticipated MPV - Perodua Alza. This MPV is based on Toyota Passo Sette and Daihatsu Boon Li. Perodua Alza looks like an extention to Myvi with longer wheelbase and bigger capacity engine. Perodua is targeting to sell 3500 to 4000 units of Perodua Alza per month.

It is powered by 1495 cc DOHC engine with DVVT (Dynamic Variable Valve Timing) and EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection). This twin cam engine can produce up to 102 hp at 6000 rpm and max torque of 136 Nm at 4,400 rpm. This engine is also used by Toyota Avanza and Toyota Rush. Alza is mated with 5-speed manual transmission or 4-speed automatic transmission depending on the variants.




Exterior:

Exterior wise, Perodua Alza looks like a bigger version of Perodua Myvi. Head lamps are something commendable for all Perodua cars. Perodua head lamps are always stylish and bright. This time, Perodua make it even better with Projector head lamps on all variants of Perodua Alza.

Fog lamps are not standard accessories for all Perodua Alza. Fog lamps only available in Premium edition of Alza. It will be more attractive if Perodua can make fog lamps available for all variants as this is quite a standard feature for most new cars.

Perodua Alza comes with 8-spoke 15" Alloy rims and 185/55 R15 tyres.


Interior:
In term of interior, Perodua has make a big improvement. Interior design and built quality are the best among all Perodua's model.

Naza-Kia has launched the all new Naza-Kia Forte in Malaysia on 25th Nov 2009. The new Naza-Kia Forte comes in 1.6EX, 1.6SX and 2.0SX versions. Naza-Kia Forte has been priced competitively as follow:

Don't get wrong by thinking the Forte 1.6EX is a basic unit without the necessary accessories. Naza-Kia has made even the lowest specification model very well equipped. The 1.6 EX has the following as standard:

The accesories package in Forte 1.6SX is almost the same as the Forte 2.0SX. The only extra in the Forte 2.0 SX are the Electric Power Steering and 2 additional airbags.

Naza-Kia is a C-Segment car, which will compete against the established model like Honda Civic, Toyota Altis, Mitsubishi Lancer, Mazda3 and Ford Focus. Due to its price tag, the Naza-Kia Forte will also draw attention from buyers who are considering B-segment car such as Honda City, Toyota Vios and Mazda2.

The Forte 1.6EX and 1.6SX use 1.6-litre DOHC 16-valve cylinder engine with CVVT (Continuously Variable Valve Timing) which can produces 122 hp at 6200 rpm and max torque of 156 Nm at 4200 rpm. The Forte 1.6 versions can reach the top speed of 190 km/h.

The Forte 2.0SX uses the 2-litre Theta II engine which can produce 154 hp at 6200 rpm with max torque of 194.2 Nm at 4300 rpm. The Forte 2.0 can accelerate from 0 - 100 km/h in 9.3 seconds and reach the top speed of 200 km/h.

All versions of Forte are mated with 4-speed automatic transmission with Shiftronic feature that allow driver to switch to clutch-less manual gear change.

Naza-Forte 1.6 is equipped with hydraulically power-assisted steering while the Forte 2.0SX has electric power-assisted steering.

In terms of safety, the SX versions come with Electronic Stability Control (ESP) and ABS. The 1.6SX is fitted with 4 airbags while the 2.0SX has 6 airbags to give extra protection to occupants in case of collision. Naza-Kia has not forgotten the safety of buyers of the Forte 1.6EX. The 1.6EX also comes with 2 airbags.

Exterior
The Naza-Kia Forte will carry the Naza badge outside and a Kia badge on the steering. So, you can easily recognized this is a Kia's technology rebadged to Naza. Kia has made one big step forward to give the Forte a sleek and sporty design. The design is comparable to the Japanese rivals.
