No Stop toll will come to Malaysia soon

Sungai Pencala toll plaza on the LDP highway will be the first site to test on the No-Stop toll plaza. The trial is expected to start in November 2008.

The will be no boom gates and motorists do not need to slow down their vehicles. The system can read a onboard unit in the vehicle even if the vehicle is travelling at 180 km/h.

This is not a new technology. It has been used in other countries for many years. Hopefully, the implementation of No Stop toll can solve the traffic jam at toll plazas. Privatised highways are means to resolve trafic jam problem, but motorists ended up in long queue just to pay toll.
